The situation

Residents near an outdoor arena in Highland Park had raised concerns about inadequate lighting in the surrounding commercial district, the kind of complaint that is hard to fix with a spot repair because the real problem is coverage and consistency, not one broken fixture.

What was deployed

The City converted 130 high-pressure sodium fixtures to LED, each fitted with a Dimonoff RME wireless smart lighting node and managed through Dimonoff | SCMS. Smart nodes were also installed on floodlight poles illuminating a neighbourhood monument, extending the same remote control to a second, unrelated lighting need on the same platform. With customizable dimming scenarios available across residential areas, the City reports that businesses have responded: two bars opened in the commercial area since the project started.
