Dimonoff developed a universal power supply module for its lighting control products, capable of operating across a voltage range of 100 to 527 volts at 50 or 60 Hz. Founding President Bernard Têtu describes the module as offering the broadest voltage range available on the market, replacing what had previously required six separate product variants to cover different voltage configurations such as 110-120V, 208V, 220V, 240V, 347V and 480V.
The idea emerged from discussions with lighting management specialists in Mexico City, where significant voltage fluctuations were damaging equipment designed for a single, fixed power input. After roughly 18 months of research and development, Dimonoff’s engineering team delivered a single module able to withstand these conditions across markets.
The universal design simplifies inventory management down to a single SKU, reduces installation errors since only one product needs to be installed regardless of the voltage on site, and lowers long-term maintenance costs. It also makes it easier for city managers to plan procurement and for installers to deploy Dimonoff hardware internationally, across varying electrical standards.
The innovation directly supported Dimonoff’s subsequent partnerships with the Mexican government, including three intelligent street lighting pilot projects aimed at reducing municipal energy consumption and maintenance costs.
