The Future of Intelligent Cities Powered by Azure IoT

Dimonoff details its partnership with Microsoft Azure, using the Azure IoT Hub and Microsoft's global data centers and partner network to scale its smart city management systems worldwide.

Dimonoff positions itself as a pioneer in bringing Internet of Things technology to smart cities, and much of that ambition rests on its partnership with Microsoft Azure. By building its end-to-end wireless control and monitoring systems on the Azure IoT Hub, the company gives municipalities a way to remotely manage and monitor urban assets, generate detailed and adjustable reports, and improve efficiency across a wide range of urban functions.

Bernard Têtu, CEO of Dimonoff, explained why Microsoft was chosen as the technology partner for this infrastructure: “We went to Microsoft because they really did understand the challenges of transporting so much data. The Microsoft Azure IoT Hub really made the difference in the way it is constructed, and supports our software architecture.”

Daniel Noiseux, Executive Vice President, pointed to the business advantages that come with that choice, particularly around scale and reach. “Microsoft is bringing us the opportunity to scale globally, using the data centres they have, pretty much anywhere on the planet,” he said. “And on the other side, we’re leveraging the Microsoft Partner Network. That opens up the market to multiple places we couldn’t even dream to have a footprint, and they have people everywhere that are helping us, promoting our solution.”

Together, the two perspectives illustrate how Dimonoff is using cloud infrastructure and Microsoft’s global partner network as a foundation for expanding its smart city systems well beyond its original markets.
